Jay laughed when he saw this hat, but I think it's great. I love knitting cables, and this was a simple project for that.
My young neice and sisters-in-law like to go dancing, so I made purses like this one in different colors that they could take with them.
These were THE gift this last Christmas. All the men in Al's family are hunters, so I made these fingerless gloves in camoflauge yarn to go with the scarves I made in the same yarn the year before.
Once I learned to knit in the round, it opened a whole new world of projects. But a lot of what I do is still just big rectangles. You can do a lot with rectangles.

That is, by far, the coolest hat. I'd wear it in a nanosecond!
We have a lot of ski mountains nearby so it is not at all unusual to see folks in some crazy-ass snowboarding hats. (we call a knit-winter hat a "toque" here. pronounced toook, not tuk)
I almost didn't put that hat pic in there, but I really like it. And I like the way everyone laughs when they see it on someone.
I'd happily pay for you to knit me one in lime green. Whadda ya think?

Are ou taking orders for those little purses? They are adorable! I love the red, only with more danglies across the bottom...or maybe in a deep purple.
Saz--the hat pattern is in Hip To Knit and the club purse is on the Lion Brand website, I think. They were both really easy. I'm just starting to think up my own stuff, but it's a lot of trial and error.
