For All the Nerds Out There

I watched Wordplay the other day. This movie is a documentary about the NY Times Crossword Puzzles and the people who play them and the people who create them. I really liked it, especially the part where the guy creates a puzzle using the theme WORD PLAY right there in front of the camera! That was just too cool.

So, how big a nerd am I that I liked a movie about crossword puzzles?

When I moved away from the US, Eugene Maleska was still creating the NYT crossword. I'm not familiar with the young pup that makes them now.

My biggest problem with crosswords is that I can't stand not to finish them. I have to look everything up.

Peggy--He's featured in the movie. He was pretty funny, but he's a nerd like the rest of us.

Jay--I'm getting to that point, too.

Umm...yeah...that's pretty nerdy!

I don't think it's nerdy, in fact I wish I was better at them. Plus I find things like that interesting.

The ultimate nerd would work on a crossword puzzle while watching the movie, particularly during the slow parts that didn't have crossword puzzles in them.
